It’s important to say, I used to live in the neighborhood of this restaurant. I came back this weekend and was very excited to return because this was one of my favorite places . I respect the rebrand and the changes to the menu; however, there needs to be a happy medium that isn’t so unsatisfying.

First, there needs to be more versatility, and there is no reason the portions should be as small as they are. Some items were staples on the menu, and it’s disappointing to see they weren’t kept after the changes. If authentic Mexican cuisine is the brand the restaurant is going for, guests should not leave hungry. I have never been to a Mexican restaurant with portions this small—even at high-end Mexican establishments.

Our table ordered two appetizers that required chips, yet we were given one very small basket and had to ask twice for more. Another issue is that when you order a meat, such as chicken, it comes by itself and sides must be ordered separately. While this makes sense at a very high-end restaurant, Tinies is not that—and if that is the direction you’re aiming for, I don’t think it’s being approached in the right way.

When ordering the filet, the portion of green beans and potatoes was barely enough to feed a three-year-old child. I’m really hoping, as mentioned, that there can be a happy medium. The food itself is very good, but the portion sizes are not, and that alone makes it not worth returning.

Unfortunately, I do not think I would come back unless further changes are made on top of the ones that were just implemented. Although the food is good, I do not see the restaurant getting repeat customers because it feels like a place you try and don’t come back & that’s sad to say as someone who really liked it here. Politely this restaurant is doing too much while simultaneously not doing enough.

The ceviche was bright, fresh, and perfectly balanced. The poblano pepper dish was rich, smoky, and absolutely worth ordering again.

Cocktails were on point, the Tres Amigos margarita is smooth and well-crafted, but pro tip: always ask for the Blanco La Pulga skinny margarita. It’s clean, crisp, and will not disappoint. 🍸

Great food, great drinks, great vibe especially with those downtown Fort Worth views. Tinies continues to be a solid go-to.

What a great place to unwind. Atmosphere is cozy with a sort of romantic ambiance. Our waiter was extremely helpful with menu options and more importantly the story behind this bar. We had great conversation and libations. The food is more Mexican cuisine wich we are huge fans of. We started with the tamale trio (seasonal) then had barbacoa short ribs with bone marrow and pulpo en chile morita. We want to come back to experience the music and upstairs bar soon. Food is delicious and can be portioned to share, margaritas were equally as good.

I came across this spot thanks to Fort Worth Lovelist and the rooftop aesthetic had me curious…and it did not disappoint.

The rooftop view is absolutely top-tier — you get that full Fort Worth skyline moment, and it really sets the tone for the evening.

The overall vibe is giving “grown, polished, and outside” — perfect for a date night or a cute girls night out. It’s sexy without trying too hard.

Now let’s talk about this food. They describe the menu as authentic Mexican cuisine inspired by Mexico City, which was a refreshing shift from the usual Tex-Mex we’re used to in Texas. The Trio of Guacamole was actually fun to try — the bacon jam topped one was my favorite hands down. The shrimp and pickled onion one didn’t hit as strong in flavor as I expected, but I’d still order it again.

The Basket of Hand-Made Empanadas... Listen. They had birria inside. I was not expecting to be that impressed — but I was. So good. And the Crispy Octopus was a nice change from the typical calamari situation most places do. Definitely worth trying if you like branching out a bit.

I’ll definitely be back — and if you haven’t been yet, go ahead and put it on your list. Go sooner rather than later.

I was intrigued by their vegetarian options and was excited to try something a little different.
This is not your typical Mexican restaurant.
Instead of chips and salsa, we were served bread. I was not disappointed in the least. Loved the pickled onions and dipping sauce. For an appetizer, I had the best potato taquitos I've ever had. For dinner, I had amazing mushroom tacos with Pico.
Rice and beans are served family style, but the beans are not vegetarian.

I look forward to coming here when the weather is cooler and enjoying the patio.

We recently returned to this restaurant on a Saturday evening to celebrate a family member’s birthday, encouraged by the positive experience we had during a previous visit. The ambiance remained just as relaxed and inviting as we remembered.

Upon arrival, we were seated promptly and greeted by our server, Brie, who made a great first impression. Unfortunately, the timing of the service did not follow suit. It took approximately 30 minutes to receive our drinks and another 30 for the appetizers. Our entrées were served nearly 45 minutes after we had finished the appetizers. To their credit, both Brie and the manager checked in with sincere apologies and explained that a large party upstairs had affected kitchen operations, which we appreciated.

Where the evening fell short was in the food quality. While the presentation was nice, the flavors didn’t quite meet expectations, especially when compared to our previous visit. The fish entrée featured a well-prepared sauce, but the fish itself was overcooked. The tres leches dessert was decent.

In total, dinner service stretched over two hours and forty-five minutes, which made it difficult to fully enjoy the occasion. While the staff was kind and attentive within their limitations, the overall experience felt underwhelming given the circumstances.

The space itself is very cool. I don’t think I would recommend this to a vegetarian, nothing on the menu is marked “V” or anything, so I had to ask the server multiple questions about each item to see if it’s something I could eat or not. Even basic stuff, she told me the rice would be fine, but when I asked if it was made with chicken broth, yes it is.. so it’s in no way fine for a vegetarian. Beans have lard, tortillas have lard. There were a few vegetable sides that seemed to be okay… but I’m not really sure. Margaritas were not my favorite. Everyone who got meat loved it. The pisole seemed to be a big hit, and the pork belly tacos. This experience would have been a lot better if my server had more knowledge about the menu or if the menu was clearly labeled. Or maybe they don’t have a single thing safe for a vegetarian and that’s why nothing was labeled but I guess I’ll never know

This is a drink place first and food second. The cocktails are intriguing. They have a nice selection of non alcoholic drinks too. Appetizers left a lot to be desired. Queso was lack luster. Go here for a girl's night drinks .

It was better than expected, small cozy place with flavorful food. We started things off with a mezcal cocktail, that wasn't as floral as advertised but still tasty. Then we had the octopus, which was great, layered with flavors, acidic, somewhat spicy, crispy (the highlight of the night). Then wife had the goat Tacos with a side of nopales, very tasty as well. I had the duck enchiladas, I think another protein would have been better because I love duck, but hard to get any duck flavor with the sauce. Dessert was the spicy brownie, which was also really good with a hint of spicy. The place gets busy on weekends, so grab a reservation. Will definitely come back and try different dishes.

A group of us arrived at the restaurant for our evening meal and asked if we could sit at the rooftop patio, which we were quickly escorted up there to a beautiful table, waiting for us. We were able to see the downtown views, as well as the neighboring neighborhood around us. the weight staff was on point, very dedicated to our group and the manager came over and visited with us. He was a very nice young man. The food was on point, please refer to the pictures. I got carrots, which were awesome crispy and tasty. We got the potato taco which is called like a Paco. We also got in the corn wedge salad, which was amazing and . we got the queso with chips, which was unbelievably awesome. Overall a great great meal, really had a lovely lovely time there. Recommended for anybody who is in the south main area also known as the Near Southside.
