The shrimp was pretty standard and slightly overcooked for my preference, though I do have high expectations. However, the garlic butter seasoning was really well done, and the sauce made the rice incredibly moist, buttery, and just the right amount of savory—maybe a bit too rich, but it paired well with the romaine and carrot salad.
The salad was a great addition, balancing out the richness of the shrimp and rice. I also appreciated that the dressing was served separately. The cranberries were a bit too sweet for me, though I understand they’re a popular contrast in conventional flavor pairings.
I really liked the garlic sauce, which I ended up using as my salad dressing. I wasn’t sure about the poppy seed dressing, but I had a feeling I would have preferred something more savory than sweet.
Overall, I thought it was a pretty good value—getting seven shrimp for $13 felt reasonable.
