Fort Redemption — A Food Truck Legend Turned Neighborhood Steakhouse, Serving Exceptional Burgers, Steaks, and Smoked Meats in a Cozy Westover Hills Hideaway on Locke Avenue

Fort Worth’s best kept dining secret may just be Fort Redemption — a tucked-away gem on Locke Avenue near Camp Bowie that has earned a devoted following and a 4.7-star Google rating for its outstanding steaks, burgers, and smoked meats. Owner Chef Tony Chaudhry is an industry veteran with 25 years of fine dining experience in Fort Worth who built a loyal following through a popular BBQ and taco food truck before channeling everything he’d learned into this intimate brick-and-mortar restaurant. A native of Astrakhan, Russia who grew up on Fort Worth’s west side, Chaudhry wanted to keep the menu small and focused on what he does best — and that discipline shows in every plate that comes out of the kitchen. Texas Monthly has recognized Fort Redemption as a casual-by-day, steakhouse-by-night destination that shifts beautifully with the hour, and the loyal regulars who pack this spot on weekend evenings would wholeheartedly agree.

The 8-ounce tenderloin is seasoned with a pristine balance of salt and pepper and grilled to perfection, maintaining its juices beautifully, while the rack of lamb arrives with an excellent char and a slightly smoky flavor that keeps the gaminess at bay. The half-pound Redemption Cheeseburger has been called one of the best in Fort Worth, the brisket benedict at weekend brunch is a showstopper, and the Monday $10 brisket plate lunch special is one of the best deals in the state. The ribeye with mashed potatoes in a bourbon cream sauce is spectacular, and the handcrafted cocktails — especially the Cosmopolitan — are worth arriving early for. For dessert, the banana pudding and tiramisu are just delightful, and the crème brûlée rounds out a dessert menu that punches well above the restaurant’s modest price point.

Weekend brunch is served Saturday and Sunday from 10:30am to 3pm, and dinner runs daily from 4pm to 9pm, with Friday and Saturday service extending to 10pm. Fort Redemption is located at 5724 Locke Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76107, reservations are accepted, and delivery is available. Dine-in only for takeout — this is one worth sitting down for. I've been probably 8 times. I always get the ahi tacos. Absolutely the best I've ever had perfectly cooked and the slaw is awesome. The brussel sprouts are amazing. The jalapeno Mac and cheese lacks a robust jalapeno flavor barely detect it's presence. But all in all highly recommend. Other notable dish is the salmon

Took my wife here for our anniversary and it did not disappoint. Great atmosphere, excellent service and even better steaks. Also the desserts were delicious. A friend of mine supplies their beef from his ranch in Glen Rose, which made the experience even better.

This was our first time visiting. We went for our anniversary. It was incredible. We ordered the ribeye, the salmon, an extra side of mushrooms, the banana pudding and a couple of drinks. The ribeye was cooked to perfection medium rare and it had so much flavor. The salmon was flaky soft and the skin had a delicious grilled taste. The mushrooms had tasted like nuggets of heaven. We didnt think it could get better but Chloe turned us onto the banana pudding!! The best pudding hands down!! More like a creamy custard! Please try this place out. You will not regret it. The service was so welcoming and they made sure we were happy! Their cocktail maple bourbon something was really really tasty. And my chardonnay was a wonderful pairing recommendation by Teri! A simple menu was just that simply amazing. Thank you for making our night extra special! We will be back, especially for lunch!

The atmosphere was great. The place had a nice eclectic style with a touch of refinement. The service was friendly and spot on. This place is truly a hidden gem. We went out to lunch and we are so glad we stumbled upon this place. The food is amazing. We had their brisket lunch special with broccolini and potato au gratin. The sides were tasty and the brisket was so juicy and tender. It was a MEAN brisket and it came along with a bourbon cream that really put the brisket at a different level of excellence. Tony the owner was also very friendly and even gave us a history of his journey. I totally recommend this place. There is so much competition in this area but for the price and atmosphere Fort Redemption is hard to beat.

Originally on our list but expedited after a friend's referral with glowing reviews. Dish 1: a 16oz ribeye with mashed spuds and an extra side of asparagus. Dish 2: rack of lamb with mushrooms. Desserts: banana pudding and flan. The ribeye was seasoned to perfection with bourbon cream sauce which is a supercool combination. For the record, the ribeye easily stood on its own as one of the best and somehow this bourbon cream still found a way to lift this high quality protein a notch. The rack if lamb was no traditional lamb, its Texas seasoned and fire grilled. Move aside you amateurs as this rack of lamb is fit for the gods. Paired with either the red wine demi or bourbon cream sauce. Red wine demi for tradition, but branch out as the bourbon cream successfully elevates the lamb further than its traditional red wine partner. The made in-house desserts are fantastic. These treats will soften the hardest critics of post meal indulgences. The service is some of the best you will encounter in Fort Worth. They know the menu, they know the processes, they know the flavors, and they know the textures. What are you waiting for? You will not be disappointed in any way!

The red snapper with the red sauce is to die for! The sautéed mushrooms were delicious! All the food was full of flavor!

We tried all 3 of the desserts & the crème brûlée was my favorite! However, they’re all spectacular!

We had an opportunity to meet the owner/chef Tony Chaundry! He’s a very nice guy & wow can he cook!!!!!! We will definitely be returning to try another amazing dish!

Fort Redemption is a hidden gem, minutes away from the Fort Worth Stockyard. Amazing ambiance, great food menu, and full bar with a quality wine list. The brisket is delicious, and I can not emphasize this enough... HAVE the Salmon Bene 🔥🔥 Place is privately owned and has great service, led by the owner, who is always making his rounds to meet guests.

Friendly staff and great food ! You can taste the passion, quality and love in every bite !!! Highly recommend. Also the staff is really friendly and easy to talk to. We were a party of two we ordered the burger and the salmon and they were both on point. My burger was cooked to order ( I would’ve liked it more done but it was great regardless). And the desserts were awesome ( see photos)
