Café Bella — Fort Worth’s Most Beloved Neighborhood Italian Restaurant Near TCU

There are restaurants you visit, and then there are restaurants that feel like coming home — and Café Bella on South Hills Avenue is firmly the latter. Voted Fort Worth Magazine’s Best Italian Restaurant, this intimate neighborhood gem is owned by Eli Golemi — a Greece-born restaurateur who arrived as a server, worked her way up over decades, and eventually became the sole owner, turning Café Bella into one of the most warmly beloved dining rooms in the entire city. She knows most of her guests by name, considers the restaurant her second home, and has built a following so devoted that diners from different tables regularly strike up conversations and leave having forged new friendships. Located in the Westcliff Shopping Center at 3548 S. Hills Ave. near TCU, it’s the kind of restaurant you want to tell everyone about — and then quietly hope it stays your own secret.

The menu is a heartfelt nod to classic Italian cooking — lasagna, baked ziti, eggplant parmigiana, lobster ravioli, and thin-crust pizzas — nothing flashy, nothing groundbreaking, just solid Italian staples done with real care and offered at genuinely reasonable prices. Each table receives a basket of freshly made rolls, still piping hot when you tear into them, and every dish carries a little of Eli’s own style and personality. Fan favorites include the Chicken Lemonita, Pasta Baresa, and the spot-on crème brûlée that regulars have been ordering for years. Café Bella is BYOB — there are no soft drinks on the menu, just water, iced tea, and whatever bottle you bring — a detail that lends the dining room an easy, convivial atmosphere where it’s genuinely common to see guests at neighboring tables sharing pours and swapping recommendations. The restaurant uses fresh vegetables and organic chicken base throughout the menu, and caters private events as well.

Café Bella is open Monday through Wednesday from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m., with reservations available and delivery and takeout offered for those nights when you’d rather dine in. Rated 4.4 stars on TripAdvisor and ranked among the top restaurants in all of Fort Worth, Café Bella has been earning that kind of praise for years — and every single visit confirms exactly why. Whether you’re a TCU neighbor who stumbles in for the first time or a Fort Worth lifer who’s been coming for twenty years, this place will make you feel completely at home. I had dinner at Café Bella with my friends, and we all loved it! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent, friendly, fast, and attentive.
I personally enjoyed the Grilled Salmon Piccata, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The Baked Ziti was also amazing, warm and comforting just like homemade.
The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, making it a great spot for a relaxing dinner. We’ll definitely be coming back! Highly recommend!!

First of all: Cafe Bella just recently got an UPGRADE! They just renovated their space and they did a very nice job modernizing the space. The restaurant still retains their previous atmosphere of attainable-yet-upscale comfort, but upgraded the old drywall walls to some sleek, black-framed translucent space dividers. I would highly recommend the environment for any dates, a great place to take your parents, or nice family dinners. Don't forget it's BYOB, so bring that bottle of wine you've been saving for a nice occasion.

For the food: I believe I have found my favorite place in Fort Worth for Veal Piccata. Their lemon-caper cream sauce was divine, and the angel hair that accompanied it perfectly al dente. The veal was perfectly, minimally breaded and cooked to perfection, but retained enough breading to hold onto the sauce well. For comparison's sake: if you've ever had Paesano's version of it, let's just say Bella's version will be an even better experience.

My partner had the Penne Arrabiata, and it was equally as good for those who prefer a hearty, tomato-based, very flavorful dish with sausage. I personally like to see more spice in an arrabiata, but it can always be added with the crushed red pepper they offer, so it's great for non-spice-lovers as well.

Overall, I have already returned to and will continue to frequent Cafe Bella. Highly recommend as one of the must-stop Italian places in Fort Worth.

This is a true gem. The food has to be authentic Italian cuisines. The pizza is always fresh, and the simple oil and herbs could be a dish for itself. We saw a review about having the best tiramisu in town, and we agree that it makes the top 5.
