Fuego Burger — A West Fort Worth Mom-and-Pop Gem Slinging Half-Pound Craft Burgers on Butter-Toasted Sourdough That Are Worth Every Mile of the Drive

Some of the best burgers in Fort Worth come from the most unassuming places, and Fuego Burger on Benbrook Highway is proof of that. Started as Salsa Fuego in 2009 on the traffic circle in West Fort Worth, the concept evolved into a specialty burger shop down the road on Benbrook Highway, where the family-owned and operated restaurant has been drawing devoted fans ever since. Rated 4.6 stars on Google, customers describe Fuego Burger as one of the best burgers they’ve had anywhere, with a soft buttery bun and perfectly seasoned meat — and more than a few regulars say it is worth the drive from 30 or more minutes away. The atmosphere is no-frills, the focus is entirely on the food, and that singular dedication is exactly what makes this place so special.

Every burger is built on a half-pound of Angus ground chuck beef, cooked to order and served on a sweet sourdough bun butter-toasted to perfection, with a gluten-free bun available as a substitute. Standout specialty burgers include the famous Green Chile Cheeseburger — a ring of white and yellow shredded cheese melted all around the top and sides with jalapeño mayo and mild diced green chiles — alongside the Blue Cheese Bacon Burger with caramelized onions, the Mushroom Swiss with sautéed button mushrooms, and the Cowtown loaded with house-braised brisket, BBQ sauce, American cheese, and Wright’s bacon. The house-made beef chili is built from Angus ground chuck, Shiner Bock beer, and a nine-chile spice blend, and sides like homemade onion rings and fried mac and cheese balls have earned their own loyal following. The teriyaki burger topped with fresh pineapple pico is a sleeper hit that keeps first-timers coming back.

The service is always prompt and courteous, and the owners take pride in preparing every meal to order — no shortcuts, no heat lamps. Fuego Burger is located at 4400 Benbrook Hwy, Suite 108, Fort Worth, TX 76116, and can be reached at (682) 250-5600. Dine-in, takeout, and delivery are all available. Note that the shopping center is not zoned for alcohol, so this one is all about the food — and that is more than enough. I have three places that I've eaten that I'll never forget and this is one of them. Hands down the best burger I've ever had. The fried pickles were also delicious and hand breaded. The tator tots with queso and green chiles is a MUST. And the Fuego Burger... Dear god. It was transcendent. My husband got the bacon bleu cheese and it was also his favorite that he's ever had.
For grass fed beef, homemade ranch, hand breaded everything, and cane sugar fountain drinks this place is worth every single penny. When I'm watching Diner's, Drive Ins, and Dives on Food Network, this is how I expect that food to taste.

Wow, great burger with crispy fries. They cook the hamburger and then put the cheese on the grill with the green chilies and then put the meat on top so that it soaks the flavor into the meat. Messy but highly recommended.

The food is great! Best onion rings! Veggie burger is awesome! Will bring our meat eating family soon, but I know it must be good because it is highly recommended by friends. A/C was out but the dining room wasn't bad at 1:00/1:30.

Absolutely delicious. We found this place by typing in hidden gem, had we not, there's no way we would have found this let alone stopped in passing. It was absolutely delicious, we had the fuego burger (if you don't like greasy this isn't for you) the cheese skirt was awesome and a nice treat, the cook the burger to your liking which is always a plus for me, the ahi tuna on the other hand I could eat every day so fresh and delicious. Everything is extremely generous on portions.. We also got the Mac n cheese bites which were easily the best I've ever had... which if you like green chilis like me you're in luck cause so does the chef. Vibes were cute inside, seems 100% authentic family owned and operated. Which we love to see. 10/10 would go back and would recommend.

Simply put, the onion rings lightly fried, perfectly seasoned all separated, were delicious. Enough for two people and a bargain for $6.95

Now to the Feugo Burger 🍔 was cooked perfectly with Hatch Chilies and a ring outside the burger of melted cheese. Like a crown that was flat like the rings around Saturn, no unnecessary tomatoes or letuce because that would add unwanted garnishment, and just make the burger soggy. You won't miss that. You will instead appreciate that. Superb Taste. So let's call it a "Crown" like a prize winner would wear if Chosen the Best Burger in Fort Worth.

I will be back to get the Chili, Gyro, and other items on the menu soon. The Owner is a Culinary Genius in my experience of dining and has gained my patronage from this experience. I could only eat half the meal. So my taste buds get another treat tomorrow. You can't go wrong in dining there or getting it to go.

Service and food are both a 10/10. The owner is probably one of the nicest people you could meet. Burgers are huge onion rings and ranch are the best I have had in a long time. Definitely worth stopping in for we live a hour away and will be back.

Fuego burger was better than expected for a sort of "hole in the wall" place. The burgers are cooked fresh upon ordering, and the bread is soft and delicious, but the only downfall is the lack of seasoning on the meat. I ordered the onion rings instead of fries or tots, and those were delicious and fresh! This burger would have been extremely delicious if that seasoning was just a bit heavier. The customer service was great, no complaints there. Overall, I would recommend this place for sure.

We have been eyeing this place for quiet some time, we drive by it going home everyday and finally we decided to stop by and see what it was about. Upon entering the restaurant we were kindly greeted by the staff with nothing but smiles and how can we help attitude, He recommend the fried mac n cheese balls to us he makes them himself and they were really delicious( sorry we forgot to take a photo of them ) We ended up getting 2 cheese burgers w fries and the appetizer and spent about $58 dollars which at first we were like holly cow thats alot for just some burgers and fries but when the food came out we were not disappointed at all we cleaned our plate and were so stuffed and left with smiles on our faces w a big THANK YOU SO MUCH as we walked out the door. We will deff be recommend this place to people in the future.

Only downside i can think of is the inside of the restaurant didn't give me the best atmosphere vibes could be cleaned better and maybe some local art or something more to do with the restaurant with the decor that they have but we did enjoy reading the different doggy posters they had up on the walls for the most part.
