Gemelle — Chef Tim Love’s Most Personal Fort Worth Restaurant, Bringing Coastal Italian Charm, Detroit-Style Pizza, and Garden-Fresh Pasta to the River District on White Settlement Road
When Chef Tim Love stood on the balcony of the space that would become Gemelle, he was transported back to the cobblestone streets of Ravello, Italy — and he decided to bring all of it back to Fort Worth. Inspired by a sun-drenched journey to the Mediterranean with his family, Gemelle is a heartfelt homage to Love’s adoration for Italian cuisine, named after his twin daughters Ella and Anna — the perfect nod to his favorite things: food and family. Texas Monthly called it Love’s most personal restaurant yet, and it was named one of the top 10 Best New Restaurants in Texas in 2020 by Texas Monthly. The inviting space, located at 4400 White Settlement Road, was once home to a succession of bars but has been re-envisioned and given new life as a quaint Italian bistro that feels like a quick trip to Capri.
The restaurant is housed in a reconstructed bungalow along Fort Worth’s Trinity Trails and features a 10,000 square-foot garden from which many of the dishes are composed with fresh ingredients. The revamped menu mixes the comfort of Italian classics with bold creativity — think handmade pastas, Detroit-style pizza, antipasti, and a vibrant new cocktail program — all set against the restaurant’s charming garden backdrop. Signature pizzas include the T’s loaded with rabbit rattlesnake sausage, pepperoni, hamburger, and country ham, and the Margherita with San Marzano tomatoes and fior di latte. Pasta highlights include Bavette Cacio e Pepe and five rotating handmade pastas featuring ingredients from the Gemelle garden. Daily specials on rotation such as Love’s Lasagna, Venison Porchetta, and Pork Osso Bucco with three-bean ragout keep the menu exciting for regulars. The beloved Girl Dinner special — a Caesar salad, Parmesan truffle fries, Bavette Cacio e Pepe, and an Aperol Spritz for $30 — is available Sunday through Thursday and has become a fan favorite in its own right.
The backyard feel, complete with bright orange Aperol umbrellas, loungers, a raised kitchen garden, bocce ball, cornhole, ping pong, foosball, and live music, makes Gemelle as much a destination for a long, leisurely evening as it is for dinner. Gemelle is rated 4.5 stars by OpenTable diners and is located at 4400 White Settlement Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76114, reachable at (817) 732-9535. Happy hour runs Monday through Thursday 4–6pm, weekend brunch is served Saturday and Sunday 8–11am, and Wine Wednesday offers half-price bottles on select wines. Delivery, takeout, and private event bookings are all available. For more of Fort Worth’s best restaurants, explore the Fort Worth restaurant guide on Selling The Fort.
