Gloria’s Latin Cuisine — A 40-Year Texas Institution Bringing Authentic Salvadoran Flavors and Award-Winning Margaritas to Fort Worth’s West 7th Street

Gloria’s Latin Cuisine is an authentic Salvadoran and Tex-Mex restaurant founded in Dallas, Texas in 1986 by Gloria and Jose Fuentes — a family who left behind the civil unrest in El Salvador to build a better life in Texas and ended up giving the state one of its most beloved restaurant institutions. Gloria’s Fort Worth location at Montgomery Plaza on West 7th Street brings all of that four-decade heritage to one of the city’s most vibrant dining corridors. The food is consistently praised for showcasing authentic Salvadoran flavors from appetizers to desserts, with attentive and efficient service that caters well to large groups — and the warm, lively atmosphere keeps regulars coming back week after week.

Every table at Gloria’s starts with warm black bean dip, house salsa, and chips — a beloved tradition that sets the tone perfectly. The menu spans hand-made Salvadoran tamales wrapped and steamed in banana leaves, hand-pressed pupusas stuffed with cheese, pork, or both, fried yuca with garlic butter sauce and curtido, ceviche trio, aguachile, queso fundido with Oaxacan and Chihuahua cheese and chorizo, and an impressive lineup of fajitas, enchiladas, and Tex-Mex plates. The Gloria’s Super Special — a combination plate of tamale, plantains, yuca, a pupusa, and beans and rice — is a must for first-timers, while the Carne Asada with Chimichurri and the Chile Relleno with shrimp are standouts for regulars. Weekend brunch is a Fort Worth ritual here, with $2 mango mimosas and dishes like ground beef sopes drawing crowds every Saturday and Sunday morning.

Gloria’s Fort Worth is located at 2600 W. 7th St., Suite 175, Fort Worth, TX 76107, and is open Sunday through Thursday 11am–9pm and Friday and Saturday 11am–10pm. The full bar features award-winning margaritas, an extensive tequila selection, tropical drinks, and wines, with outdoor patio seating, weekend brunch, happy hour, private events, and delivery all available. If you’re headed to Gloria’s on Seventh Street in downtown Fort Worth, do yourself a favor and ask for Jasmine S. From the moment we sat down, Jasmine S.warm energy and professionalism elevated the entire experience. She greeted us with a radiant smile, remembered subtle preferences without skipping a beat, and somehow anticipated our needs before we even voiced them.

Whether it was her expert drink suggestions or how she handled our questions with genuine care, Jasmine turned a casual dinner into something we’ll rave about for weeks. Her timing was impeccable—never rushed, never absent—and she balanced friendliness with grace in a way that made our table feel valued.

It’s rare to find service that feels this personal and polished. Jasmine is the kind of person who reminds you why hospitality matters. Gloria’s is lucky to have her, and we’ll definitely be back—with friends in tow!

Our server was great. We haven't been in years because last time we were there, no one would serve us. We waited 30 minutes before someone even brought us water, and it wasn't busy. This time, things were much improved. My friend's drink was terrible, so our server noticed she wasn't drinking it and brought her something else. I ordered 2 cheese pupusas, which came in 2 separate plates...a little silly for one order, and they took up a lot of space on an already crowded six-top. Even if they come on separate plates typically, when they are for the same person, one plate is a better presentation. They were also burnt. It was like someone in the kitchen just didn't care. All of our food was mediocre.

There was a wait which was fine but the food didn't turn out good. It looks amazing but tasted bland. Wouldn't come here again for the food but the service was nice, waiter was attentive as they could be with how busy it was.

I had such a satisfying meal at Gloria’s! The carne asada was perfectly grilled tender, flavorful, and paired really well with the house-made chimichurri. The Salvadoran yuca was delicious and crispy on the outside while soft inside definitely a highlight. The salsa served with chips was bursting with flavor, fresh, and had just the right kick. I also tried both a classic mimosa and a mojito the mimosa was refreshing and citrusy, while the mojito was minty and balanced. The whole meal felt authentic, flavorful, and well-presented. I’d absolutely come back.

I was with a group celebrating the Christmas seqson. Our server Gloria R. was fantastic! She allowed us to split the bill among 20 people. WOW! The food was delicious. I ordered the sopa de pollo. I wish Inhad the recipe. The chips and salsa were irresistible.

The food was very good, but the service took forever! The restaurant is also very dark. I understand there’s a need for atmosphere, but the lighting was just not it. The chips, salsa, and bean dip were great! I got the crispy beef tacos and they were good! No complaints at all about the food! Our waitress was friendly enough, just took forever to get even a glass of water at the start! The house margarita was also $19!!!!
