Hanabi Ramen & Izakaya — Fort Worth’s Gold Standard for Authentic Japanese Ramen, Where Chef Takao Ito’s 10-Hour Broths and Izakaya Spirit Bring the Soul of Tokyo to Camp Bowie Boulevard

When Fort Worth ramen lovers debate the best bowl in the city, the conversation almost always starts — and ends — at Hanabi Ramen & Izakaya at 3204 Camp Bowie Blvd, Suite 106 in the Cultural District. Chef and founder Takao Ito arrived from Tokyo with a singular philosophy he calls “Kindness in its flavor” — the belief that great Japanese cooking is slow cooking, and that anyone from a toddler to a grandparent should be able to sit down and feel nourished. Every broth is simmered from scratch for more than ten hours using traditional techniques, and the housemade miso paste and soy sauce are crafted in-house to give each bowl a depth that packaged seasonings could never replicate. Rated 4.5 stars on Google with hundreds of reviews, Hanabi has been ranked the #1 ramen in the DFW area, and visitors who’ve eaten ramen in Japan routinely describe it as the most authentic experience they’ve found stateside.

The menu at Hanabi spans the full spectrum of classic Japanese ramen styles, from a silky tonkotsu and a rich Tokyo black tonkotsu to karami (spicy), miso, kara miso, shrimp, tan tan men, tomato, seafood, veggie, and the satisfying tsukemen — a dipping-style ramen where thick noodles arrive separately from the concentrated broth for an interactive, intensely flavored experience. Every bowl comes crowned with braised chashu pork, a perfectly soft-boiled ajitama egg with a creamy jammy yolk, fresh vegetables, and your choice of add-ons. The izakaya side of the menu is equally compelling: gyoza, takoyaki, chicken karaage, squid leg, korokke, and shumai offer a full small-plates experience before the main event, while rice bowls — gyu don, chashu don, katsu don, curry katsu, and chicken teriyaki — round out the menu for those who want to explore beyond noodles. A full bar with cocktails, sake, and wine makes Hanabi a natural destination for date nights and group dinners alike.

Hanabi Ramen & Izakaya is located at 3204 Camp Bowie Blvd, Suite 106, Fort Worth, TX 76107, and is open Monday through Thursday and Sunday from 11:30am to 9pm, and Friday and Saturday from 11:30am to 10pm. Dine-in, takeout, and delivery are all available, and the sleek dark-wood interior with an open kitchen and bar seating creates a casually sophisticated atmosphere that works just as well for a quick weekday lunch as it does for a celebratory dinner. With three Texas locations — Fort Worth, Denton, and Carrollton — Hanabi has quietly become one of the defining Japanese restaurant experiences in North Texas. Hands down the best ramen in the metroplex. There is no wrong choice here when it comes to ramen, and the takoyaki is the best I’ve had outside of Japan (yes, I realize how pretentious that makes me sound, but it’s the truth!). Superior service, amazing atmosphere. Do yourself a favor and come pay this place a visit!

Our server Bailey was amazing and very understanding. I ordered a ramen that I didn’t end up liking and she let me order something different and was able to comp the other order. She was just overall really friendly and welcoming. If you get a chance, go visit bailey and tell her I sent you!

Stopped in for lunch at Hanabi Ramen, and it totally hit the spot. The broth was rich and flavorful, noodles had the perfect texture, and the toppings were fresh. The staff was super friendly and quick, which made it a great lunch stop. Cozy atmosphere, clean, and comfortable — I could’ve stayed longer just enjoying the vibe. I’ll definitely be back to try a different ramen bowl next time! It is my go to whenever I’m in town.

My friend and I had the agedashi tofu and kara miso. The sauce for the agedashi tofu was so good, I couldn’t stop dipping! The soup was served at the perfect temperature, the noodles were excellent, and the server took great care of you! I’ll definitely come back!

Good food in a pleasant atmosphere. There are to tables available for large parties. The seating is a bench seats with no back for these tables. The broth in my ramen was divine. I will come back and try more dishes.

Hanani Ramen was recommended to me in a foodie group, and it definitely lived up to the praise. We tried the Shoyu and Spicy Tokyo Tonkotsu ramen—both were excellent in their own way. The Shoyu had a deep, savory broth that was comforting and classic, while the Spicy Tokyo Tonkotsu packed a flavorful punch without overwhelming the richness of the pork-based broth.

The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the toppings—from the melt-in-your-mouth chashu to the jammy egg—were spot on. The balance of flavors really showed the care put into each bowl. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making the whole experience even better.

If you're a ramen lover, Hanani Ramen is absolutely worth the visit.

I showed up at around noon and was swiftly attended to even just by myself, which I appreciated greatly. While I've previously had their black tonkotsu ramen and it was delectable, I found it was just a pinch too savory for my taste buds. I highly recommend their miso soup and karaage fried chicken for a more balanced flavor with the perfect blend of assorted savory and balanced flavors. It was my first time having a "bubble drink" like the strawberry one I ordered today, so it was fun learning how to open it 😀
