Holy Cue: Texican Bar-B-Q with Bold Fort Worth Flavor

Holy Cue brings a unique twist to the Fort Worth barbecue scene with its “Texican Bar-B-Q” concept, blending classic Texas smoked meats with the vibrant flavors of Mexican cuisine. Created by chef and restaurateur Mary Patino Perez, the restaurant grew from her award-winning Enchiladas Olé brand and quickly became known for its bold flavors and creative menu. Guests can explore the full concept and menu on the official Holy Cue website. The restaurant focuses on slow-smoked meats and homemade sides that celebrate both Texas barbecue tradition and family-inspired recipes.

The menu at Holy Cue goes far beyond traditional barbecue plates. Diners can enjoy favorites like smoked brisket, ribs, chicken, and the restaurant’s signature smoked meatloaf, along with inventive Tex-Mex inspired dishes that highlight the restaurant’s fusion style. Many of the sides are just as memorable as the meats, including Gouda mac-and-cheese, scalloped potatoes, creamed corn, and other recipes inspired by the owner’s family holiday cooking. The result is a menu that balances smoky barbecue flavors with comforting, homemade dishes.

For those exploring the best restaurants in Fort Worth, Holy Cue offers a flavorful and distinctive take on Texas barbecue. Located on Camp Bowie Boulevard, the restaurant is a favorite among locals looking for something a little different from the typical smokehouse. Whether you’re picking up lunch, ordering takeout for the family, or catering a gathering, Holy Cue delivers a memorable combination of barbecue tradition and Tex-Mex creativity. We love the new location on Magnolia. Parking is great 👍. We ordered two briskets for a party. We get it chopped and it was so juicy, tender and flavorful. Great rate too. 👌

Mary Perez and her fantastic crew are always on point! They have catered for our business several times and I will continue to use them, we serve about 50-60 people, and we have some picky eaters just sayin’, they have become our employees favorite weather its the enchiladas from Ole or the BBQ from Holy Cue the food is always fabulous and they send PLENTY! I could make a meal just from the sides, seriously they are awesome! Highly recommended, try them out you won’t regret it!!

Ordered a lb. of sliced brisket and 1/2 rack of ribs via DoorDash. Pic shows what was delivered. Ribs were a no show, and the brisket was inedible, and definitely the worst I've ever had. Meat had a very acrid, bitter taste, which usually happens when it has been smoked with "dirty" smoke, and/or using wood not meant Had an employee taste it, and his response was "this tastes weird".

Excited for the Westside of Fort Worth. Stopped by Holy Cue to try some barbecue and Holy Smokes!!! She also serves meatloaf with a twist. It is definitely food with flare. I can not forget the sides. Creamed corn, air gratin potatoes and a refreshing cucumber and tomato salad. (My mouth is already watering) 10 out of 10……. I highly recommend. See you again soon Holy Cue!
Absolutely incredible BBQ!
Stopped in for lunch and had the smoked meatloaf — WOW. Perfectly smoked, packed with flavor, and hands-down one of the best BBQ dishes I’ve had in a long time. The seasoning was on point, and the portion was generous. You can tell they take pride in their craft. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, and food that makes you want to come back for more. Holy Que is the real deal — don’t sleep on that meatloaf!

Lively companion and I have driven by this little place several times. Today, was the day we decided to check it out. Went in- small place with simple decor, but the food is why I'm there. The owner came up and greeted me- Just a wonderful first impression. I asked for a menu but this wonderful little place makes their delectable goodness fresh each day. It's definitely a snooze, you lose as if you don't get there early enough it's gone. Nothing made days before and tossed in the micro. I had the brisket tacos and two of the just amazing sides- smoked gouda mac and cheese and a cream corn that was just out of this world. Cream corn, you say! But I tried a sample of the au gratin potatoes and cheesy goodness for real. The other meat on the menu was a bar b q meatloaf. oh my heavens- Yall I'm not kidding- this little hole in the wall is 5 star gourmet yummy in a picnic atmosphere. Good portions and great prices. This is my new fav!!

I’ve been a huge fan of Mary for years. I had the brisket meatloaf and she hooked me up with all the sides. I met her dad and he makes the potato salad, but the corn is the best!
