I visited King Tut Restaurant excited to try their Egyptian food, and I was eager to taste their lunch specials. The staff was polite, but there were some communication issues, particularly with the person who took my drink order.

The food started with an appetizer of dolma, which had a huge pile of feta in the middle and a lot of seeded olives. The dolma had an Italian flavor to it, which was unexpected but not bad. For the main course, I ordered the eggplant moussaka lunch special with a double salad. The salad consisted of two separate servings: one small plate before the meal with one slice of cucumber, one slice of tomato, one half-pickled cucumber, and a tiny piece of feta on a small bed of lettuce with light Italian-style dressing; and another salad served with the meal. Unfortunately, the portions were extremely small, with the moussaka served on a 6-inch plate. The food was just okay, and for $23, I expected more value, especially considering other options like Korean barbecue that offer more food for a similar price. The service was a bit disjointed, with multiple people handling different parts of the meal. Overall, while the staff was friendly, the small portions and communication issues made this visit underwhelming. (Pictures look way bigger than actual serving)

I had a great experience at King Tut! The food was delicious with generous portions. I especially loved the pita and hummus — super fresh and flavorful. The service was excellent; our server was attentive and kept our drinks and bread full throughout the meal without us having to ask. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Only reason I'm giving 3 stars right now is because we haven't fully explored their menu yet.

We came in on a whim while waiting for friends and ordered the queen maza plate, which is kind of like a combo appetizer. We got the hummus, tabbuli, dolma, falafel, sambosa, and feta, split between my wife and I. This came with a generous helping of pita bread.

The hummus was nice with a slight zing of heat to it. We ordered the meat sambosa and this was probably my favorite item from the plate. Super delicious. The tabbuli and falafel were both somewhat average to me. Nothing really stood out too much in terms of flavor or texture but they were adequate. The dolma were very tightly packed but a little too pickly for my pallet. The feta cheese really helped cut through the vinegar in this.

This was only a small sample as we didn't want to spoil our appetite for dinner with friends. We're very interested in coming back and trying their main food as well. It crowded, really only 2 other tables while we were there. Servers were great and friendly.

Arrived with my friend and found it amazingly beautiful inside. We were beautifully seated at a lovely table and ordered as many vegetarian options from the menu!!! It was all delicious and lovely and we had the best time. We took tons of food home for other later meals because the servings were so big!!!!!
