Maria’s Kitchen in Ft Worth, Tx didn’t disappoint! Upon entrance, the hostess greeted us with door service. We were then seated within seconds. We also asked the hostess about the top dishes, and she was very warm, welcoming, and pleasant. Our waiter, “Andrew”, was phenomenal, providing excellent service that went beyond what was expected. He was very bubbly and easy to speak with, and he refilled our drinks without us having to ask. Now, let’s get to the food. I loved that the menu wasn’t too big, like most places, where you don’t have time to read it all. We selected from a few varieties on the menu, and honestly, it was 10/10. In my opinion, I ordered the Sopes Benedict and my potatoes were on the dry side, but other than that, everything was delicious. I definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The vibe of this restaurant is great. The food is middle of the road. They cannot remove cheese from ANY of the enchiladas as they are “pre rolled with cheese.” The fajitas were okay but nothing to get excited about and the happy hour menu doesn’t extend to the dining room.

Maria’s Kitchen is Amazing! The atmosphere is authentic, drinks are high quality and the food is delicious! But more than that is the customer service… it’s personalized for your dining experience. Mark Anthony stole the room as he served us… we felt as if we were the only guests in the restaurant. He was thorough, listened intently, catered to our beverage and meal needs and most of all … he was patient. He served us with professionalism and continued to ensured that our dining experience was excellent. If you have not experienced Maria’s Kitchen, I recommend you make a reservation.

Incredible food, awesome service! This was our first visit and we will definitely be back!! I’ve lived in Fort Worth all my life and am very picky about Mexican Food. My go to has always been the Old Original Mexican Eats Cafe on Camp Bowie but they moved to the stockyards. Always on the look out for a new, high quality spot and this is it!! Incredible menu and you can tell they only use fresh ingredients and the homemade sauces are magnificent! Go and you will be rewarded with flavors you won’t find anywhere else!

Not a fan.

I don’t think there’s a single restaurant off of university that I do not like with consideration to their respective price categories except for this one. Maria’s was something to look forward too when the old steakhouse moved, but i was sorely disappointed. I meant to write this review when it first opened but forgot until i went through my phone to clear out old photos.

Maria’s “hot sauce”, tasted like they opened up a can of tomato paste and added some water and salt to it. Had no flavor or texture; possibly the worst sauce at a restaurant we ever tasted. Presentation of the meals were nice, and my husband’s meal was ok. I however, ordered an entrée that included fish, and the fish had clearly gone bad. It had a really gross consistency and even worse flavor. I was highly disappointed as I really wanted to like this place because it looked cute.

The aesthetics of the restaurant are on point however the atmosphere is not great in that they did not take into consideration any sound absorption when designing. They pack so many tables into small spaces that it gets unbearably loud for dinner. Not a great place to go on a date.

The service was OK, but nothing spectacular, and it is the main reason for the one star rating. While the waiters were nice, it took so long to get any attention, especially in light of my meal being completely bad. By the time they came back to check on us, my husband was half way done through his food, and was sharing his meal with me. Additionally, the only reason we aren’t giving it a second chance is the valet service. Parking used to be free here. Tell me why in the world you would charge customers to valet their cars that your valet parks only a few feet from the entrance, while consequentially blocking ALL parking spots and forcing your customers that opt to park themselves to walk from much further spaces down the street? Makes no rational sense, right up there with tipping for fast food.

So glad Quince arrived!
