Undercooked Barbacoa and Poor Service

I visited this restaurant recently and ordered barbacoa tacos. The meat was undercooked, chewy, and had an unpleasant taste. When I mentioned this to the staff, they insisted that this was “normal,” but as someone familiar with authentic Mexican barbacoa, I know it should be fully cooked, tender, and easy to shred — never raw or tough.

Only been in Ft Worth two days and already ate here two times. The tacos are really good. My favorite is the flour taco with asada, cheese and creme. And they come with pickled cabbage which is delicious in it's own right. I also enjoyed the quesadilla. There are four hot sauces. Mild salsa verde, medium creamy jalapeno, hot piquin, and extra hot habernero. I actually really like them all. They have glass bottles of Coke from Mexico as well as Jaritos and other drinks as well. There is also a bar inside for ordering drinks. I am looking forward to trying the breakfast burrito before I head home. Five stars. Must try!

Me and my husband wanted to try this place out. Soooo overpriced. 1 taco was 4.50. Because of that we decided to get the Malca bowls. I noticed that the majority was rice and beans, barely adding any meat and toppings . We are huge foodies and eat at MANY places. I ordered a Horchata with my meal. It was 4.75. At other places they give me a huge styrofoam cup (32-44) ounces . This place gave me the smallest cup for almost 5 dollars and have to pay for a refill!! Also didn’t even taste homemade. Or look like it. Just tasted like cream. If you want to spend a lot of money for boring food … this is the place !

Ordered online for takeout, no way to actually modify ur meal or in my case my bowl. I paid the extra money for extra meat and add ons ( did not get them) it gave me an option for no cilantro so I chose it. They completely left off the cabbage slaw that comes in the bowl, they did not put the cheese and sour cream I paid for. So I basically had a plate with rice beans and asada with none of the extra amount paid for. I attempted to call the store when I got home, it says press 2 for a human. Pressed 2 and then it says sorry we are busy but u can leave a message. So I’m guessing no one actually answers the phone business hours because it also tells u to place ur orders online or app. It’s just annoying because my 2 bowls went $40 plus a $5 tip and I cant even get ahold of anyone to correct my order. Not worth the hassle I’ll prob never eat here again.

With the cupon o get to buy one taco and get a second chicken taco, it had cabbage mix diceed up . Was very good. Order a red Sangrea drink also very good. The staff are very nice the do have a parking garage . So it is also free just follow what the signs tell you. Tje order came to me on just under 4 minites.
I am comming back on open mic days. Hours for music are not posted. David who is at the bar was great in helping with questions. He also made a wonderful drinks.

Fun and great place for Mexican food. One of the best places I went to during my visit to DFW. I can't wait to come back!!

Food was 10/10! Loved both vegetarian options, the guacamole and queso were 12/10! Only thing is the horchata tasted a bit off hence the 4 stars for the good but everything else including the salsas were super good!

Pretty awesome authentic place, food was great. When I walked in I notice some tables a little messy, but when I finished my burrito and taco, I understood why. It was so good you’ll leave a mess😂

I got the recommended item which was a burrito El Campeon.

I was attracted by the large meat spit at the entrance. And I was right. I chose a chicken quesadilla for a light snack. The meat is magical, aromatic, delicious! The staff is polite, friendly but not over the top, which is great! Pleasant atmosphere, calm, relaxed.

Double check before you leave, the past couple of times we have ordered the queso appetizer this location has “skimped” us on queso. Instead of a full size, they gave us one that can’t feed more than one person. It’s queso… come on, why are we being stingy with our serving sizes. Would’ve asked for more to feed our family if I knew this before getting home. You can see the full size salsa vs what they think is a full size queso

This place was a happy surprise. The food was delicious. We had the Tacos/rice and beans plate. Everything have a good flavor including the rice. The service was friendly and prompt. The atmosphere very jovial goood music too. We had no problem with parking, because we use the free parking garage. I would definitely go back the next time I am in FTW.

I love street tacos, and really wanted to love their food. It is very good, no question. But something was keeping it from being great, at least what I had. I had a few vegetarian tacos. My friend had the chorizo and she felt the same way. But I highly recommend regardless. The atmosphere is really fun. A fun spot with very good food is a win!

Do not pass this place up. Their food is bursting with flavors as are their sauces. Ordering was easy and the staff was helpful, catered to our needs, and quickly answered questions. This is a different Hispanic cuisine than your typical "Mexican" establishment. The menu could have a few more items and sides, but I'm not complaining. What they do, they do very well, and that's what's most important. Two things are certain; We will be hungry again, and we will bring our appetites back to Salsa Limon!

Cashier was very nice, but he mistakenly got my order wrong. once i got my order, they forgot to put the extra jalapeños i asked and paid for and i had bigger expectations for a torta. i wish i would’ve grabbed my receipt, maybe they were having a bad day. to end on a positive note, they’re drinks were tasty.

Regardless of the location I visit, the experience is exceptional. The quality of the food is consistently top-notch, and the staff is always welcoming and attentive. Clearly they prioritize customer satisfaction & want to maintain high standards across the board.
While parking can occasionally be a bit challenging at certain locations, this minor inconvenience is far outweighed by the overall excellent food and service.

They actually play Salsa! I was so geeked.

I traveled to Fort Worth for a conference with my co workers. We arrived in town in the late afternoon and wanted a quick bite to eat. I saw Salsa Limon on my map and made an executive decision to head over there. It was a short walk from the hotel.

The service was great. The food arrived quickly. It was inexpensive as well.

I purchased a salad and it was delicious. I also ordered a flor de jamaica. It was all delicious.

I also loved that they played Salsa while I was there.

They also served alcohol! I had a michelada and a spicy margarita. It was delicious and inexpensive.

I love that its a family owned business and they have several locations.

I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while and am so happy I finally did! Everyone says that the food is fabulous, and everything absolutely was!

The kind person taking our order was so patient as my children decided what they wanted. He also went out of his way to explain menu items to us, and was super helpful with all of our questions :)

Service was speedy! Everything was so very fresh!

The Barbaro taco was life changing. The guac is the best. And I’d def recommend the queso!

I will be back!

I paid $4 for a piece of bacon and an overcooked egg in a flour tortilla. Another $.50 for some salsa. Used to love this place. LOVED it. Quality and cost have changed places. It's great for people who don't know how good these tacos could be.

Ordered two barbacoa quesedilla plates and they were all tortilla and cheese with a sprinkle of meat. I mean hardly anything. Basically a tortilla with melted cheese and a literal sprinkle of meat. Worst quesadillas I've had from a restaurant. Sadly. 😔 😥

Loved this place. The food was super good and it came out quick. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The ambiance was great! The indoor seating is limited, but their outdoor space is big and has a great vibe. Good vegetarian options as well. Overall great choice for a quick lunch :)

I went to get a to-go order because I don't eat meat so I drove to this location because I love the grangero tacos and mushrooms tacos I use to go to the one downtown but this location disappointed. They didn't make my tacos right by the time I got home my tacos were missing the Avocado.

The tacos are great but they take sooo long. I've been waiting 20 minutes for 6 tacos and it's not busy at all. About 20% occupied

A great spot for tasty tacos with plenty of options. What I really liked is that every taco has both veg and non-veg protein choices, making it super easy to customize based on what you’re feeling.

The food was flavorful and satisfying, and I really enjoyed their Jamaica Fresca—refreshing and the perfect pairing for the meal. Definitely a spot I’d come back to when I’m craving tacos with some flexibility in choices.

Solid tacos from a fun and bright place. We tried a variety of tacos (asada, barbacoa, pollo, pork) and we all really enjoyed the El Capitan version with a cheese skirt on the shell! The margaritas were pretty good as well! Would love to return when it’s warmer out to enjoy on the patio - and don’t forget to order the Queso and Chips - absolutely delicious!!!
Absolutely wonderful food and experience. The rice and beans are the best anywhere. Highly recommend the Burrito or Tacos. Second time here and will come back on our next Fort Worth trip.

Listen to me, and listen close: If you do anything in this life, get the mini bean and cheese burrito at Salsa Limón. The photo does not do them justice. It is one of my favorite things to get in Fort Worth. They melt the cheese on the tortilla, then add the bean. It’s phenom.

We have ordered many things here, and always go back to the mini bean and cheese burrito. We literally get them once a week haha. Their rice is great too and you can’t go wrong with chips and queso. We also like their quesadilla. I enjoy their tacos, but I obviously have an obsession with another item on the menu.

You’re welcome for my love letter to the mini bean and cheese burrito. Have a nice day.

Salsa Limón has never been a very affordable option but it’s always been damn tasty. Lots of things have changed over the years, but as long as they keep pressing those burritos, I will return. Milo, the face of ownership, represents his product well. It’s nice seeing him out and about the town, reminding people that much like himself, his restaurants are fun and best enjoyed with friends.

First time visiting this lovely little spot off of White Settlement. Grabbed a couple of breakfast Tacos and some salsa to go ..... fresh tortillas and amazingly flavorful barbacoa and adana meats. Their two green sauces were also amazing. Can't wait to go back to try more and sit on the cute patio.

This should be a five star review. The atmosphere is fantastic thanks to ample indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is efficient and thorough. You'll enjoy the bar or patio as an alternate to a standard table. The food us good, but they insist on the tacos having raw cabbage. It's a weird crunchy addition that doesn't compliment the taco at all and actually takes away from the flavor. They even pile it pretty high meaning you'll mostly taste cabbage on your taco. It's weird and should be removed from the ingredients - saving them money and you a bad additive. Otherwise this is a five star place!

It was very yummy! They have good prices and the food was very very good! I tried all of the salsa. And they all compliment the food very well! They brought our food out before we even sat down! Highly recommend!
