Whiskey & Rye — Fort Worth’s Most Spirited Hotel Bar and Neighborhood Gathering Spot, Where Texas Whiskey Flights, Regional Craft Beer, Live Entertainment, and Southern-Inspired Pub Food Make the Omni Fort Worth Hotel a Downtown Destination Worth Knowing

Hidden in plain sight inside one of downtown Fort Worth’s finest hotels, Whiskey & Rye at 1300 Houston St. inside the Omni Fort Worth Hotel is one of the city’s most welcoming and underappreciated bar-and-restaurant experiences — beloved by hotel guests and downtown regulars in equal measure. The Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce describes it as a great neighborhood bar, and that phrase captures its appeal perfectly: despite the upscale hotel address directly across from the Fort Worth Convention Center, Whiskey & Rye has the warm, unpretentious, come-as-you-are energy of the best kind of Texas tavern. Oversized leather chairs you’ll never want to leave, complimentary pool tables, high-definition TVs tuned to whatever game is on, a Texas Western motif that doesn’t feel the least bit forced, and a bar staff whose warmth turns first-time visitors into regulars by the second drink. TripAdvisor reviewers describe it as a great place to unwind after a long day, a fantastic spot for bourbon and whiskey, and one of the best-kept secrets in downtown Fort Worth — with one visitor specifically noting the smashburgers, spare ribs, and espresso martini as highlights of a memorable dinner.

The food and drink program at Whiskey & Rye leans into Southern comfort with a Fort Worth sensibility throughout. The kitchen delivers a menu of elevated bar classics: grilled Angus beef burgers, crispy red snapper tacos, signature fajita nachos, Rahr’s Ugly Pug baby back short ribs slow-cooked until fall-off-the-bone tender, loaded tots that earn their own mentions in reviews, chicken poblano soup, and a rotating cast of specials built on local and regional ingredients. The drink program is where Whiskey & Rye truly earns its name: an extensive selection of Texas whiskeys, bourbons, and ryes anchors a full-service bar with regional draft beers from Rahr & Sons, Martin House, Revolver, and Karbach alongside national brands, craft cocktails including a muddled blackberry old fashioned that reviewers call superb, the Rock Star Martini that earns consistent raves, and an espresso martini that has developed its own following. The Omni’s signature Taste of Fort Worth package includes a flight of local liquor and beer with small bites at Whiskey & Rye — one of the most enjoyable hotel bar experiences in Tarrant County.

Whiskey & Rye is located at 1300 Houston St., Fort Worth, TX 76102, inside the Omni Fort Worth Hotel, with direct street access from Houston Street. Hours are Monday through Wednesday from 2pm to midnight, Thursday from noon to midnight, Friday and Saturday from noon to 1am, and Sunday from noon to midnight. Live entertainment is featured regularly throughout the week. Valet and self-parking are available through the hotel. Whether you’re in town for a convention, catching a show at Bass Hall, or simply looking for one of downtown’s most comfortable rooms to settle into for the evening, Whiskey & Rye delivers every time. We stopped by on a Friday afternoon and had a great time! It was still early, so the bar wasn’t too crowded, but the vibe was perfect — great music, friendly service, and a solid menu with plenty to choose from. There are even pool tables, which added a fun touch. I’d definitely come back again when it’s a little busier, but even in the afternoon it was an awesome spot to relax and grab a drink.

We were at the Omni from Friday to Wednesday and every night we were there we we're in the bar. No matter where you sit, you can see at least two televisions. The only time the pool table was not in use was when they first opened and right before they closed.
The service was exceptional but Courtney on Tuesday night and Rebecca on Monday night were exceptional and far exceeded the five-star rating.
The food menu is a little small but everything on there is very very good. The drink menu needs a full size three ring binder.
If you're running to Cody, ask him if he can find another 18 inning baseball game to put on the TV for you.

Cody is also somebody who went above and beyond any expectations each time I was there.

The Whiskey & Rye was on point. I came in the Monday afternoon right before large convention. The service was attentive without being over whelming. I had a sausage taco and a Redfish taco. They were very good! It was just the right amount to tie me over until dinner. The ambiance is quite alluring also. If you’re in town for a conference you won’t go wrong at the Whiskey and Rye. 👍

Cool place as far as the appearance. But our food was so greasy it actually completely ruined it. We ordered to go and ate in the lobby, our quesadilla and chicken fried steak bites were soggy from the grease, the to go cartons all had a pool of grease in the bottom. The place is far too expensive for the quality of the food to be handed over this way. When being overcharged, I definitely expect better playing. Blotting the food on a paper towel or letting it drain on a tray would have helped immensely. I do not recommend this place and wouldn't be back.

We stayed at the Omni for a graduation, and every evening, we would head down to Whiskey and Rye to all meet up and hang out. Let me tell you, this place was a vibe! The atmosphere was it! Every night was a different crowd, and every night was so much fun! 100% recommend!

This is a decent hotel bar in the Omni Hotel. Big wide open with lots of comfy chairs at the tables.

This was our first time at whiskey and rye for a quick bite to eat and a cocktail before a concert and our waitress, Aysika was PHENOMENAL. Couldn’t have asked for a better welcome to Fort Worth. She greeted us right away and made sure everything we ordered was perfect! Next time you’re here, recommend this wonderful soul!

Food was so good! Had the smash burger, side salad which was ok, but the chips & queso made up for it! Husband had lobster roll which was good & daughter had cheese pizza which she loved!

We came here for an evening drink and let me till you, this is not a casual lowkey place. It’s a pretty large bar/restaurant. On football days it will get packed and loud. The drinks were good and they have a large selection of spirits. I would come back but if I wanted a lowkey vibe I would go somewhere smaller. The location of this place is very close to the convention center which makes it easy.
