They must not want my business. Lindsey's voicemail doesn't even have a proper greeting message, which should have been the first sign she doesn't care. She would not return phone calls or emails and didn't give me the time of day when I tried months later when Dad started getting worse with his dementia. My great grandmother lived here years ago, so it's the first place I thought of, but the last place I'd go knowing how marketing acts.

I wish I knew about the JLW Center earlier in my Mom's journey with Dementia. She moved into JLW for short term rehab after a hip surgery. She had been suffering from numerous falls and I was at a loss on how to help her. The staff at JLW for the rehab were amazing. The care was so comforting, my mom stayed for long term care. The comprehensive care - from house nurses, aides, doctors, therapy, nutrition - it is unmatched. My mom was a handful as her disease progressed, but the relief I felt having her cared for by the JLW staff was incredible. Highly recommend JLW to anyone looking for care for a family member on this journey.

My mother is a new resident and my sister and I cannot be more pleased with JLW. Welcoming, kind, and have put us at ease that our mother is well taken care of.

My father has been at James L. West for about nine months. It was a very hard decision to not have him keep living at home, but after a fall and head injury, we had no choice. West has been truly amazing. They train their own staff offering free training for CNAs. Everyone working here is truly wonderful. They weed out the sad sacks! They have actives to try and keep the residents stimulated and moving, both mind and body. I don’t have the words to express our gratitude for West and all its employees. If your loved one has dementia, come here first. I understand the difficult and I hope your experience is as good as ours has been.

Update:

I wanted to express my sincerest appreciation for all the care and love you and the staff at James L. West has shown Dad over the past two years. This time has not been easy for Kerri, me, or our family, but you and all the staff has made this time better.

You have some incredible caring and loving folks working there. People with love in their heart, with genuine care and love for the residents. I see them speaking to the hardest residents with softness and love, using their name, calming them and making their lives better. Dad was a kind loving man, and we are so thankful that his personality was always present. Not losing his personality was such a blessing for us. I know that the staff saw this and loved him. I know that many of the staff will grieve his passing as we do. Marie broke down and cried yesterday when I told her. Thankfully, she was able to come up and see him and us, prior to his passing. She came up after his passing also. Viola and Lisa came in and comforted us. Cara also came in and comforted us by playing soft music and bringing Luna. Luna was amazing yesterday and Wednesday. She did her job comforting, incredibly well. Kimmie and so many others came in to see dad and comfort us. I wish I could name everyone, but yesterday is blurry. I was in the process of of telling you how wonderful Deborah is, but I hadn’t gotten there. She is wonderful. I see her on the camera always caring for Dad. I never had to worry when she is there. I also want to thank the other night CNA that had Dad; she is also wonderful. I am sorry I cannot remember her name. I know they both cared for Dad.

I am very proud of James L. West. I am proud of all the staff. I am so thankful for all of your caring for Dad and caring for us. You made our decision to put Dad there easier and a blessing for us. I will forever recommend James L. West to everyone who has a family member with dementia or Alzheimer’s.

The James L West Center has been a lifesaver for my grandmother and I. She attends 5 days a week and is always saying how much she enjoys the staff and the activities they provide. They do a great job keeping her engaged and safe throughout the day. She loves it, which means I do too!
