After thoroughly researching local salons and stalling for months because I was afraid to pull the trigger, I finally chose Acute Salon. The name caught my eye, the website felt legit, and the stylist quiz was a nice touch. Most of the availability was booked out, which I took as a good sign, but I needed a cut right then, so I rolled the dice. For once, it worked out perfectly.
I landed with Yaya, and I’m honestly so glad I did. From the start she was warm, attentive, and completely understood where I was coming from. I loved the intake form and photo upload option because it let me explain what I needed without over-talking it. After a decade with the same stylist, this felt like a first date, but Yaya made it easy. She got it right on the first try.
I left with great hair and zero anxiety about where I’ll go next. What I didn’t leave with was a plan to “fix it” when I got home which is sometimes the case when getting a fresh cut and/or seeing a new stylist. I can confidently say I got what I paid for and her prices were well in line with the quality of service along with her skills as a stylist. Feels like the beginning of a solid stylist relationship, and I’m already looking forward to the next time we see each other.
