Kari and Josh owners of Shampoo are THE BOMB. They are artists --- Hair artists. As soon as you walk into Shampoo, you know you're not in a typical hair salon. Housed in a charming 1936 bungalow, the space is a perfect blend of modern style and relaxed, fun-loving energy. Owners Kari and Josh have created a truly unique "oasis" where you can kick back, listen to some good music, and let your hair dreams come true.

Kari, owner and stylist gave me a hair makeover which I am thrilled with. I came in with little hope that my hair could look good again. I had not had my hair cut and colored in months. The last stylist over processed my hair and gave me a bad haircut.
Kari, revived my color with low lites and high lites blending in the gray and cut my thinning hair with expertise that revived my whole look and gave me back my confidence in my appearance. She also gave me tips on products to use for thinning hair.
On top of it all Kari is so vibrant and pleasant to be with much like her shop….filled with light and an airy feeling.

I discovered my very talented hairdresser, Josh Kinney, at the Shampoo Salon through the recommendation I received from a saleswoman at Neiman Marcus many years ago. This was shortly after I relocated to Ft. Worth and I needed to find a new stylist. Josh is one of those very artistic people who is also highly skilled at his profession! Josh is also a great conversationalist! I recommend him highly!

I may be THE pickiest person on the planet. I’m also endearing so people tolerate me but that’s beside the point. If I moved across the world, I’d still fly back every 6 weeks just to have my hair done by Kari. This salon - and all the people in it - just renews my faith in humanity. And hair. Kari makes my hair look like Blair on Facts of Life (when I come in looking like Kathy Bates in Misery).

Last year, I had a brain tumor removed. And the whole front 3” of my hairline was shaved. I was DEVASTATED. My hair is my thing. Kari just held my hand and my head through the whole ordeal. I was in her chair the morning I found out. And I was in her shampoo chair every…single…morning the first week after my surgery so she could wash my hair and I could feel normal for a few minutes (I usually wash and blow dry every day).

Whether you go to Kari or Josh or any other stylist at Shampoo, you’ll find their salon culture to be incredibly nurturing. And their talent at making EVERYONE feel beautiful is unparalleled.

Edited to add: Here’s a photo of my first days post brain surgery when Kari and my BFF had to keep water from getting into my incision.

Brittany is the best! Very creative and keeps your hair’s health in mind when color formulating. I’ve been seeing her for years and love this location! Such a cute spot and convenient. Happy to have a new hair home.
