Melanated buyers beware ⚠️ This spa opened up recently, and it has such a beautiful space with lots to offer. I was excited to win a free basic facial at their opening event, but the results were not great for me. I enjoyed the fact that Angel took his time learning about the products I currently use and discussed my regimen in detail with me. However, when it was time for the extraction it literally brought tears to my eyes. I let Angel know that I usually have to be gentle with extractions due to my sensitive skin, or else they will leave a mark. His response was “Oh it’ll be fine, that shouldn’t happen”. By that evening the extraction points had turned and I had brand new dark spots on my face. This was upsetting for two reasons: 1) I told him to be gentle to avoid this; 2) The spots that formed 6 months ago had finally started disappearing, only for these brand new ones to be added. When I reached out to Angel he explained that melanated skin is more prone to getting dark spots at the extraction point. Needless to say, I’m hesitant to return for any additional services. If you’re a person with melanated skin, consider this a cautionary tale.
