This underground jazz lounge is exactly as you'd envision. It's dark and moody and full of music loving patrons. The drinks are great, as is the service. Food options are limited to chips and dip and hummus, but you don't want the entire lounge smelling like pizza or burgers and fries. There are plenty places to eat downtown before or after.
The music is first class and interactive. It's just a fun place to be. Go. You'll be happy you did!

For the entrance into Scat Jazz Lounge, go into the building and on the left side enter the elevator and press the “B” button for the Basement. Once the elevator opens up, take a left and you’ll see the Scat Jazz Lounge light display and the entrance into the venue.
The front desk will ask for your reservation and ID, and they’ll guide you to be seated.
The atmosphere was very laid back and really enjoyable. The musicians really enjoyed playing for the audience and the environment was great as a first timer for Jazz music.
Didn’t find anything good on the available drinks, so I ended up paying the required $10 fee as it was either buy a drink or pay $10. The bartender was really kind and understanding and made the evening really enjoyable.
They do have alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, different dips for chips, and cheese cake or cherry variations.

For parking go to the one on Calhoun Street, as it’s free parking all day on weekends and free parking after 6:00pm on weekdays. (401 Calhoun St, Fort Worth, TX 76102) It’ll be a 5 minute walk from the parking garage to Scat Jazz.

Scat Jazz Lounge was an absolute vibe from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere is intimate and classy, the staff was friendly and attentive without hovering, and the whole place feels like a hidden gem in downtown Fort Worth. Mahogany was excellent and stole the show. Great voice, great presence, and she had the room locked in the entire set. We will definitely be back.

We loved SJL! The ambiance is lovely for date night, the Sunday band was phenomenal even though the saxophone was unavailable this evening. The drinks are strong and delicious! We totally felt like we got our money's worth for this experience. The only thing we didn't appreciate was when we stepped into the stairwell during intermission & returned to our table shortly after, the door/front desk guy chased us down and demanded to check our IDs again. This could've been done more privately or not at all. We clearly were making our way to our table that still had our belongings/beverages. We got our check immediately after that interaction & left. I understand he was doing his job, but it definitely didn't need to be done in that manner at that volume for other customers to notice.

The vibes of this jazz lounge are so fun! It’s such a neat place to have right in downtown Fort Worth, since most of the art around town is more country-themed or theatrical shows. To have a lounge dedicated to jazz is such an asset!

Scat Jazz Lounge is an underground (literally), cozy lounge with live jazz music. There are shows where you must pay/reserve tickets in advance, but there are also shows that you can just show up to!

They offer a large drink selection, and the beverages are pretty fairly priced. The service can be a bit hard to get at time due to the live performance aspect, but it is not hard to figure out. Scat Jazz Lounge is a relatively-accessible way to experience instrumental music and art in Fort Worth!

This was our first visit to Scat Jazz Lounge, and we had a blast! Great atmosphere for a date night and very talented musicians (Michael Morrison and the rest of the ensemble were terrific). Our server, Stephanie, was also SUPERB! Very friendly and attentive and had great drink recommendations. I highly recommend trying the cheesecake. Thanks for a delightful evening! We will definitely be back.

This place is a great spot for a night out or a date night! The espresso martini and the hot Toddy were really good 10/10. However I will say it would have been nice to know at the door that rather than buying 2 drinks per person it could have just been a fee which was a bit inconvenient. Overall this place was great and the artist’s were amazing.

I couldn’t tell you about the experience at this lounge because there actually was none! After planning our entire evening around this venue, myself and two friends arrive and are met with what I would presume to be the most incompetent, uninformed hostess, I’ve ever experienced. She immediately tells us she doesn’t work here often and doesn’t think she can seat us. That’s fine! We offered to split up, wait for a space to open up, sit at the bar stools, or even possibly stand as it genuinely didn’t look busy. She simply just gave us a dramatic frazzled shrug and said let me ask management. She returned in approximately .5 minutes saying management absolutely would not allow that. Okay lovely. The performers sounded amazing and we were honestly just hoping to have a classy evening out and enjoy their performance. She said, “you can leave and come back later” to which we asked is there truly nowhere for us to just observe and she said, “uh no”. The sound man behind her was zero help as he just said don’t look at me I just do the audio! Thanks man. We obviously thanked them for trying, and left however, overheard the group of gentleman behind us get seated immediately with no reservation. We were dressed professionally unlike the WILD ensemble miss hostess was exhibiting, we hadn’t had one drink that evening, and truly just confused were as to why she had a preconceived bias about us. Super disrespectful, the performers deserve better and she should go from working intermittently, to never working at all❤️

It was my first time ever at a jazz lounge and it was such a vibe and romantic date spot. It’s underground I suggest taking a sweater or something because it can get chilly. The music was everything. We ordered drinks but they took for ever to come the waitress said the original bar tender was out of town so his replacement must not of known what they were doing. I almost thought she forgot it because she did forget our chips and dip and we had to ask for it again but the spinach and artichoke dip was good.
